Wedding films at Great Lodge · Great Bardfield, Essex

A place I love
coming back to.

The vineyard, the barn, the lake and a courtyard full of your favourite people. I've filmed at Great Lodge several times, and it's somewhere I always enjoy returning to.

Two weddings. Their own stories.

Great Lodge,
through my lens.

Danni & Cameron and Charlotte & Patrick. Two celebrations at the same venue, each with its own people, atmosphere and feeling.

From behind the camera

Plenty of places.
Room to be yourselves.

What I like about Great Lodge is the variety. A few steps can give the film a different setting, without the day becoming a search for the next picture.

There is the vineyard for time together, the lake and grounds for a quieter moment, and the barn, which can look beautiful dressed for a wedding. When an outdoor ceremony is part of the plan, it brings another feeling to the day.

Then there are the people. I've always found the staff lovely to work with, and the courtyard is a good space for everyone to mingle. The conversations, laughter and things happening around the edges are as much a part of the film as the setting.

I've even seen horses and alpacas in the fields on visits. Those little details are part of why I enjoy filming here. Every day has something of its own.

A few things worth thinking about

01 / Getting ready

A little of the morning.

The on-site accommodation gives wedding parties and guests somewhere to stay and get ready. If you're using it, let me know when we plan the coverage so we can think about both sides of the morning.

02 / Time together

The vineyard and the lake.

There are different settings to choose from. We can work with the light and your timings on the day, and with your photographer, so a little time for pictures fits naturally into the celebrations.

03 / Your guests

Let the afternoon unfold.

The courtyard gives people room to talk, gather and enjoy being outside. If you're planning lawn games or other activities, tell me about them. They can be a lovely part of the atmosphere to capture.

04 / A wider view

The grounds, from above.

I love how the estate looks in aerial footage. Where the weather, location and permissions allow, a few aerial pictures can help set the scene. We'll also have plenty to work with from the ground.

Planning your Great Lodge film

Your day comes first.

Knowing a venue is useful. Getting to know what matters to you is what makes the film personal. We'll talk about the people you'd like me to look out for, your plans and the moments you're most excited about.

The collection brings together a cinematic short wedding film and two portrait films with different feelings, alongside camcorder moments and messages from willing guests.
